One Reply to “Research for meeting unmet needs: Taxonomy of translational models”

17 Jul 2018Really interesting issues raised. But the problem is that the suggested model of learning and evolving knowledge systems are not yet mainstreamed with science and policy. Still top-bottom approach with least concern of user needs is taken into account. I am also of the opinion that there is a need of getting involve all the stakeholders to opt the fourth one suggested model (the way users cope with the problems, identify the most successful or healthy users who have either not faced the problem or have resolved it through their own knowledge and creativity) for evolving knowledge and building upon to establish sustainability model. Almost all the theories of social-ecological resilience suggest that the fourth model suggested is better fit. This could be based on three principles: (1) ability of connectivity (network of knowledge and institutions), (2) planning with flexibility and (3) robustness of bouncing back as per the local resources.
I also do agree, however, that there is a need to develop the analytical framework to pursue such model of inclusive knowledge development in partnership of science and policy so that current and future risks are adjusted effectively.
