The former President of India, Smt Pratibha Devisingh Patil expressed a deep interest in the innovations presented at the Seventh Biennial National Awards for Grassroots Innovation and Outstanding Traditional Knowledge. On 7^th March, 2013, she invited the innovators to her Tughlak Lane residence. She interacted with all the innovators, carefully listening to their individual stories and giving feedback on their ideas. Today, on 12^th March, 2013, she and her husband visited the exhibition at Mughal Gardens. They spent generous time at each of the stalls. She paid special attention to the ideas of students who had received an award for their innovative ideas. Mrs. Patil was the first president who had invited NIF to install the exhibition on the premises of the President’s House.
