Mr. Udaya Raja (54 years) studied M.A. Social Work at Madurai and was employed in Air Force for few years and retired voluntarily. He developed a unique note book which can be used for 6 subjects for a day and thus a student carry up to 500 gm or less instead of 7-8 kg at present.

He was facing this problem for his son (B.U. Pranav Nath) who has been going to high school carrying lot of luggage. This made him to think and with in four years he developed few models and standardized. He applied patent for his innovation.

This new model note pad has four to six sub note books which can be easily inserted or removed by using movable iron clips. The cost of one set of notebook is about Rs. 150 or less. He visited many schools for introducing this new model and so far 30 schools in Madurai district haves accepted this model and he is also getting order for supplying this model note book. In the cities of other states also viz., Vizag, Cochin, Hyderabad, Bangalore etc. this model has been accepted. Overall in 160 schools introduced this model notepads and still many more are willing to adopt.

Advantages

It reduces drudgery of school going children carrying heavy weight.

A student studying upto 12th stand-ard may carry six notebooks per day in a single bag. He has reduced the size of pages and clubbed all six note books in a single master notebook. One can remove any notebook or insert as per his needs. He reduced 12 wrappers (for six books) into two wrappers as it reduced the weight considerably.

It reduces the cost of purchase of note books for a student.

He is giving training programme for household women / youth on manufacturing this model of note pad by collecting a training fee.

It saves environment and it is refill technology and all materials are eco-friendly.
